How to reach the Wire.

Tips, documents, corrections, questions, and funder conversations all route through the publisher directly. The Wire does not have a switchboard, a PR desk, or a contact form farm. There is one human, and the channels below are how to find him.

Tips & documents

You've seen something the public should know about.

If you work inside a credit union, a CUSO, a trade group, a regulator, a vendor, or anywhere else in the cooperative-finance ecosystem, and you've seen something that deserves independent reporting — send it. Source protection is non-negotiable.

Encrypted intake available on request. Signal, ProtonMail, or in-person handoff. Even the initial request can be sent from a clean account — email and we'll set up a channel before anything sensitive is shared.
Response time

Corrections

We got something wrong.

Errors in published stories should be reported directly. We do not quietly edit published work. We log every correction on the public corrections log, dated, with what changed.

info@thecreditunionwire.com
Include the story URL, the specific claim or number in question, and the primary source we should have used. We verify against the primary source, not against your characterization of it.
Response time
Within one business day · corrections processed same-day when sourcing is clear
Letters to the editor

You want to disagree, on the record.

Letters in response to published stories are welcome. We publish thoughtful ones, with attribution, alongside the original story. Anonymity is not extended to letters; if you want to respond off the record, send a tip instead.

info@thecreditunionwire.com
Letters are edited for length and clarity, not for substance. We will not publish a letter that misrepresents the original story; we will publish letters that disagree with it.
Response time
Within three business days · publication decisions weekly
Press & media

You're covering the Wire, or want to syndicate a story.

Outlets covering The Credit Union Wire or considering republication can reach the publisher directly. Stories are available for republication under our Creative Commons BY-NC terms; syndication arrangements outside those terms are possible on request.

info@thecreditunionwire.com
We will not provide pre-publication access to any story. We will provide context, methodology, and source documentation on stories already published.
Response time
Within two business days
Everything else

None of the above.

Speaking engagements, beat suggestions, partnership inquiries, conferences, technical questions about the editorial system, or anything that doesn't fit one of the categories above.

info@thecreditunionwire.com
We read everything. We respond to most things. We do not respond to pitches from PR agencies on behalf of credit unions, CUSOs, vendors, or trade groups in the beat we cover; that is editorial policy, not unresponsiveness.
Response time
Within five business days · we will acknowledge receipt
Source protection

If you're sending something that could put you at risk.

Tipsters inside credit unions, CUSOs, regulators, and vendors are the reason the cooperative-finance beat will ever get reported on honestly. We treat the conditions you send under as part of the story we owe you.

  • We will not name you. Not in stories, not in internal notes, not in conversations with editors or peers.
  • We will not describe you in ways that identify you. Even within the limits of accurate sourcing, we will route around details that narrow the field.
  • We will verify independently. Anything you send is a pointer; the published story rests on primary sources we re-pull ourselves. Your role can be limited to telling us what to look at.
  • We will not give documents back. Documents you share are retained securely and not returned to subjects of reporting, even under legal pressure that does not compel disclosure.
  • We will not publish if it puts you in unacceptable danger. A story exists in part because of how we tell it. If telling it safely is not possible, we will hold it or tell it differently.
