FRANKENMUTH, MI (March 26, 2026): On Thursday, March 19, 2026, Frankenmuth Credit Union hosted its annual Mini Educator Grant Reception to celebrate local educators and their commitment to enriching student learning.
The Mini Educator Grant program provides funding to local educators to alleviate some of the out-of-pocket costs associated with purchasing much needed classroom items. Through this program, eligible educators may apply for grants of up to $500 annually. This year, FCU awarded $20,367.17 to 47 educators from 41 local schools, supporting a wide range of innovative classroom and school-based initiatives. Funded projects included supplies for student-led service learning efforts such as assembling blessing bags for community distribution; raised garden beds to support hands-on science education; hand drums and instrument repair materials for music programs; and roller skating clinics incorporated into physical education classes. Additional grants supported math manipulatives, sensory room enhancements, robotics and drone kits for coding and STEM learning, playground sports equipment, and diverse classroom library collections—including books that introduce students to economic concepts and financial decision-making.
